General

Any reliance you place on a tool’s output is strictly at your own risk.
The Calculators Produce Estimates
Every tool on Pixcs models a well-defined relationship using standard formulas rather than the behaviour of a specific application:
- The resize, aspect-ratio, and crop tools use exact proportional maths, but round to whole pixels because images are made of whole pixels. That rounding can shift a resized or cropped ratio by a fraction of a pixel.
- The DPI & print-size and megapixels toolsuse the definitional relationships between pixels, inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm), and resolution. A printer’s true output also depends on its driver, interpolation, and paper.
- The file-size estimator multiplies the exact raw bitmap size by a typical compression ratio for each format. Real compressed size varies widely with image content and the quality setting you choose, so treat it as a ballpark.
Not a Guarantee
Nothing on Pixcs guarantees the exact dimensions, resolution, print appearance, or file size you’ll get from your own software. Those outcomes depend on the specific editor, codec, camera, and printer you use. Use the tools to plan and build intuition, then confirm anything that matters:
- Check final pixel dimensions and crops in your image editor before exporting.
- Do a small test print, or ask your lab, before committing to a large or important print.
- Export a real file to see its true size rather than relying on the estimate.
Not Professional Advice
Pixcs’s content and tools are not professional design, printing, or technical advice, and using them creates no professional relationship. For work that carries real commercial or deadline weight, rely on your own tested workflow and, where needed, a qualified professional.
